Seven of the country's best bars. Under one roof. Three hours.
We're excited to welcome:
2019 Best Bar Program finalists: Bar Agricole (San Francisco, CA), Kimball House (Decatur, GA), Lost Lake (Chicago, IL), Ticonderoga Club (Atlanta, GA), past winners Arnaud's French 75 (winner, 2017) and Cure (winner, 2018) The Violet Hour (winner, 2015) For a takeover-style event!
On Sunday, May 5th, 2019 from 10pm-1am we're raising a glass while we gather as many JBF finalist and award-winning cocktail programs as can reasonably fit into two rooms for an over-the-top, rule-breaking Takeover event.
As last year's winner of the James Beard Award for Best Bar Program, Cure joins The Violet Hour in a toast to current finalists and past winners. In the spirit of the awards themselves, we want to celebrate the excellence of all of these outstanding bars with the mutual respect and camaraderie upon which the cocktail community thrives.
Representatives from two outstanding bars at a time are stepping behind our bar to do what they do best and dazzle us all with delicious beverages. However, don't worry if you miss their stint: a featured signature cocktail from each bar will be available on draft for the duration of the event!
Executive Chef Alfredo Nogueira from JBFA winner Cure and sister concept Cane & Table will be serving up Caribbean inspired snacks, like classic beef empanadas and crab croquettes, to keep you fueled through the night.
Meanwhile the usual Violet Hour rules will be on hold. We're flipping our 'no standing room' policy to a standing room only affair in our middle and back salons.
Take a look at the schedule below to see when your hometown favorite takes their turn.
